Call for Conference Session Submissions
We are excited once again to offer parallel seminar sessions where members and the wider OD community can share their thinking, experience and skills with the conference.
On Thursday 22nd we are particularly interested to hear from people wanting to share and explore their underpinning theory and/or practice – this might be an overview, case study, skills session or something else.
On Friday 23rd we’d like to have sessions exploring the future of OD – what’s on the edge of our current practice that will become mainstream, what’s OD’s role in the big upcoming challenges, what are the ethical considerations for OD?
To submit a proposal for a session click here to complete this short form. Deadline for submissions is 24 June – and those offering a session at conference obtain a discounted conference ticket.
ODN Europe Conference – September 21-23 at Hilton Doubletree Hotel, Chester, UK.
We welcome you to three days of exploring the impact of our OD practice and imagining what the next ten years of OD could achieve.
What the conference is about
Thursday 22– Friday 23 September – Main Conference
The main two days of the conference are split, with the first day looking from the present backwards, recognising the way in which OD and ODNE has been shaped, and the second day looking from now into the future and exploring what’s currently on the edges of our practice which may become mainstream. Gala Dinner on the evening.
Day One – Past to Present
This first day involves us exploring the “state of the art” of OD. The original meaning of “state of the art” refers not to the latest tools and techniques but the current state of a field of practice. In this spirit we will examine the current state of the art of OD: what are OD practitioners actually doing, why and for whom, and what results are they getting?
Day Two – Present to Future
The second day recognises that a great deal has changed in the first decade of ODN Europe and will continue to change, and so we look at current and anticipated organisational, social, political, environmental, and technological changes and ask how these might affect OD and OD practitioners. Our intent here is to speculate provocatively on our direction of travel: How intrinsically linked are OD and activism, OD and the climate emergency, OD and capitalism? What role will artificial intelligence play in OD work in the future? What’s the nature of work in a post-pandemic world?
Wednesday 21 September – Pre-Conference Day
Explore our practice through our real work with clients. This is an opportunity for learning about your own practice and seeing how others work in real time through an open stage for sharing client work and your own perspectives and expertise. We welcome all regardless of whether you are new to OD or an experienced practitioner.
Why Attend?
We are a community of Organisation Development practitioners and in attending you’ll get to be part of this community. There will be content courtesy of some great keynote speakers (more info coming soon), seminar sessions to dive deeper into subjects and plenary sessions. And there will also be community – a chance to make new connections and develop existing ones. We have not all been in the same place for so long that it will be amazing to meet and just be together.
In addition, we want to offer a chance for members and non-members to contribute their thinking and practice to the conference. We will very shortly be asking for submissions to contribute your ideas, experiences, case studies, learning sessions and share these with colleagues. This is a wonderful opportunity to showcase yourself and contribute to the wider community.
