Join the ODNE Board!

Published on November 7, 2025

We are looking for committed and enthusiastic people to join the ODN Europe board.

We are a small, friendly team which allows us to make decisions quickly and implement initiatives that make a difference to our members and the wider field. You really can make a difference as a board member!

To be successful you’ll need to be good at working collaboratively and also comfortable making decisions independently. This is a voluntary position but expect it to take around 15 hours a month of your time, although this will vary as the work requires. We meet for board meetings once a month for 90 minutes and have other ad-hoc meetings from quick decision calls to longer strategy sessions. And there is then work to do outside of this. You will always have someone on hand though, as a sounding board and additional pair of hands.

What you're likely to get from this is great experience in running an organisation, including learning and building on areas such as governance, finance, operations, IT systems, website and marketing. Plus as you might expect, experience and learning about organisation and group dynamics, how decisions get made and how you as an individual work in this group!

Over the past 2-3 years we have put in a lot of work to radically overhaul the infrastructure of ODN Europe and understand the dynamics of this network.
We need new people now to help drive us forward. You'll need a desire to build a community and a willingness to do it by experimenting to find what works. You don't need to be an expert in OD.

For more information about what’s involved and to apply, see these documents (you need to be a paid member to apply).

We recommend you talk to someone on the existing board before you apply. To set that up, email us at [email protected]

Update (24 Nov): Closing date for applications is now 12:00 GMT on Monday 1 December 2025

The small print:

  • This is a voluntary position so it’s unpaid (although some expenses are covered).
  • It’s a three-year term and you will be registered as a director with Companies House in the UK.
  • We work across three time zones so meeting times can vary.
  • Although fun isn’t guaranteed it does happen.
