Journal Club: off to a great start!

ODNE's inaugural Journal Club took place on Friday 18th August. A small but dedicated group of ODNE members met online to discuss the article "Innovation: The Key to Ongoing Success" from the Summer 2023 issue of Organization Development Review (access to OD Review is a benefit of ODNE membership).

 

Lizzie Reather summarised the article and suggested a few questions arising from it, and then the conversation got going. A lively discussion touched on attitudes of leaders to innovation and challenge, appetite for different types of risks, the hero model of leadership and hero-worship of 'innovative' organisations, establishing an environment with psychological safety, what does innovation mean anyway, do leaders really want it, and what do we do when we don't know the answers!

 

That's Journal Club off to a great start, join us for the next Journal Club on 13th October 2023 where we'll read and digest "Moving Inclusion Along the Path to Agency".
