Neurodiversity at work: join live at lunchtime on 21st February to discuss findings from new research

Published on February 6, 2024

New research from the Tavistock Institute of Human Relations explores how more neurodiverse, inclusive, and accessible workplaces can be developed. The research, Neurodiversity at Work, was carried out in the global tech industry.

Please join us to discuss the research at our Food for Thought Lunchtime Talk: 21st February 2024, 1pm-2.30pm.

This online/in-person Lunchtime Talk is for anyone interested in how organisations can do better to support neurodiversity at work. Dr David Drabble, Elyce Cole & Anna Sophie Hahne will discuss our study of neurodiversity in the global tech industry and invite participants to share ideas. Please sign up!

The research shows that company culture and workplace systems can create both opportunities and barriers for neurodivergent people throughout their employee journey, from recruitment to everyday working life, and career advancement.

Key findings

  1. Psychological safety and trust is essential for action to foster inclusivity for neurodiverse people;
  2. Adjustments to workplace culture and systems exist in a wider social context and are rooted in human behaviour;
  3. Support should be accessible without a formal diagnosis or disclosure, promoting neurodiverse inclusivity and accessibility;
  4. Neurodiversity equity and inclusion hinges on supportive allyship, which can be fostered through awareness training.

The study was commissioned and published by the #ChangeTheFace Alliance which works to increase diversity and inclusion in the global tech industry.
